I am a psychoanalyst and trauma therapist who has treated survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and childhood molestation at Mount Sinai Beth Israel’s Victims Services Program in Manhattan. As a graduate intern, I also worked with survivors of torture and war at NYU Langone / Bellevue Hospital's Program for Survivors of Torture. I practice at the intersection of trauma-informed treatment and psychoanalysis, which is to say I apply the tools of both to treat the disregulations, anxieties, and conflicts within an individual's body and mind due to intergenerational, historical, political, relational gender-based, or situational traumas. With couples, I apply a similar approach: to discover and give voice to what is unspoken, taboo or dissociated to better understand the roots of our anger, expectations, needs and disappointments when our partner doesn't get it, and / or turns away.
